Managing Chronic Illness(es)

August 29, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

When you are managing one or multiple chronic illness(es) dating, sex, and relationships may be a different ball game. Chronic illness(es) are often visible and invisible, so folks may not always know who is managing an illness and who isn’t.

Some understandable questions that people with illness(es) may ask is, when to disclose their illness to their partner, date, hook up. As well as, if disclosing the illness will lead to others viewing one differently.

These conversations are difficult, but with time, patience and investment in our health, we can navigate having chronic illness(es) and having active dating and/or sex lives. We invite our queer people of color communities to join us on August 29th at 6:30 PM to engage in a community dialogue about chronic illness, sex and relationships!

Feel free to bring any resources you may want to share.

Event is wheelchair accessible. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided. Visitors are always welcome to bring food or drinks to share, but it is not at all required to attend. This event is one of many this year around promoting the well being and vitality of QPOC communities in Austin, TX.
