Navigating & Celebrating Identity Beyond Binaries as Queer & Trans POC

November 15 @ 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

We invite our queer people of color community members to join us!

Creating safer spaces for queer and trans people of color helps make our communities stronger, more connected, and overall healthier than if these spaces were left unprotected. In the spirit of crafting spaces where marginalized identities within a marginalized community can have a platform to organize, discuss, and create change, we want to create a space where nonbinary QTPOC can come together to advocate for our health, well-being, and representation in our multifaceted community. We aim to start cultivating spaces where non binary people can begin conversations about our bodies, our relationships, our selves, and be allowed to take up space without displacing other voices in our community.

“I feel it is important as a nonbinary person to have access to resources and information that is pertinent to my identity and existence in Austin’s queer community, and having spoken with other nonbinary people in the city it has come to my attention that this is also a need of many. I want to finally have in-depth discussions on how we, as a group of non binary people, can advocate for more inclusion and access in spaces that are gendered as well as within our personal lives, workspaces, relationships, and with each other.”
—Ethan Parker (xe/xem)

And our amazing facilitator for this discussion is Ethan Parker xemself, and we are so lucky to have xem putting their energy into this space! Ethan X. Parker is a community-taught creative who enjoys creating art centering the experience of life at the intersections of being queer, Black, nonbinary, and transgender.
You can find more of their work at patreon.com/EthanDrawsStuff |twitter.com/EthanDrawsStuff | instagram.com/3thanXP |www.ethanxparker.com

Light refreshments will be provided; feel free to bring something to share.

Join us on Wednesday, November 15th, at 6PM for this conversation on the challenges, beauty, and realities of being nonbinary.

This event is one of many this year around promoting the well being and vitality of QPOC communities in Austin, TX. For more information about this and other events, or to sign up for our mailing list, send a message to wellness@allgo.org
