How to Have Better (Conversations About) Sex

February 4 @ 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Sex can be awesome, but it’s often complicated, especially for QPOC!

From shame to self-doubt to historical trauma, leading a sex life can sometimes feel daunting in our queer and trans bodies. As people of color, our sexuality is repeatedly and non consensually fetishized and disconnected from our own desires and agency. In addition, we’re often actively discouraged from exploring our relationship with sex, and sometimes, this silence, shame, and fear seeps into our own homes.

Join us at allgo on February 4th to be a part of our conversation on how to have better sex by having better conversations about sex with your partner(s). We’ll be talking about the importance of creating and maintaining open, honest, and genuine communication with your partners and creating space for expressing wants and desires.

How do you reinforce the importance of continuous and enthusiastic consent? What are some ways we can candidly give ourselves the space and time to learn about our own sexual desires? We’ll share new and interesting ways to explore our relationship with sex both alone and with others. All while challenging common misconceptions about our bodies and talking about ways to keep our sex lives healthy and enjoyable.

Please share this event with any Austin QPOC who may be interested!

This event is one of many this year around promoting the well being and vitality of QPOC communities in Austin, TX.
