Let’s Talk: Polyamory
August 29 @ 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
We invite our queer people of color community members to join us!
Being in love as a QPOC is revolutionary in itself. One of the beautiful things about our community is all of the ways our love takes shape.
We use a lot of different words to describe our relationships. Join us on Tuesday, August 29th, at 6PM for a conversation about polyamory, open relationships, or non-monogamy.
We want this space to acknowledge and validate and honor all the various ways that QPOC practice these non-monogamous relationships—as well as share in our stories or histories (however long or brief) of how our love has evolved, adapted, and/or changed. This space is also open for any QPOC who are curious, questioning, or contemplative about starting or going into an open relationship.
Let’s take a look at jealousy, moral judgements, community accountability, and identity in the context of healthy and fulfilling polyamorous relationships and explore some ways to hold each other in our love with integrity.
Our esteemed facilitator for this event will be Dr. Martha Ramos Duffer. She is a licensed clinical psychologist, motivational speaker, trainer and consultant based in Austin, Texas. Not only is she an accomplished entrepreneur and community activist, she was also the executive director of allgo from 1999-2003! We are so happy and honored to have her back in the space for this event.
This event is one of many this year around promoting the well being and vitality of QPOC communities in Austin, TX. For more information about this and other events, or to sign up for our mailing list, send a message to firstname.lastname@example.org
