“Eastside Stories” Premier Screening

September 29 @ 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM

   Title of Series: “Eastside Stories”

Cindy Elizabeth’s new docu-series explores the lives and legacies of black and brown Austinites who have called East Austin their home. Throughout this series, Cindy documents the stories of these individuals by highlighting their day-to-day activities in a part of town with a constant-changing landscape as a result of gentrification and displacement.

The series will premiere at allgo on Friday, September the 29th. The first episode features Bettie Mann, the first black teacher at Lee Elementary here in Austin, Tx.

Cindy is an East Austin native who, through this project, hopes to explore the lives of people who have stood in the center of East Austin, giving it the rich culture and history it has today.

Run time: 10mins

This project is supported in part by the Cultural Arts Division of the City of Austin Economic Development Department and the Trans Justice Funding Project and individual donors.
