Austin, TX – March 29, 2007 – After a standing-only Austin performance of her one-woman show, Mastering Sex & Tortillas!, Adelina Anthony is returning to Austin for one night only for an intimate reading of Bruising for Besos.

This is the chance for those who missed her last performance! Adelina rocked the house with the Historic Victory Grill filled to capacity and many people sadly not being able to see the performance due to the outstanding turn-out. We expect a full house this time around as well, so please, RSVP as soon as possible to make sure you can get in! Seating will be first come, first serve. Simply e-mail lorenzo@allgo.org or allgo@allgo.org, or call 512-472-2001 and let us know you’re coming.

Bruising for Besos is a two-act solo play exploring domestic violence in queer and non-queer relationships. Yoli Villamontes, a 20-something Xicana, recreates distant and not-so-distant memoria to explore the effects of physical and emotional violence. Her fraught journey is tempered with doses of good humor and reflection.

A Q&A will take place after the reading. Refreshments will be provided. Don’t miss the chance to be with Adelina in an intimate community setting at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2007 at ALLGO [front of building].
