The Texas Queer People of Color Statewide Summit, was held July 9-11, 2010. This gathering of individual and organizationally connected activists coming together to build relationship, think critically, envision liberation, and create strategies that build and sustain a queer people of color movement across the state of Texas. Held this year at Alma de Mujer, the Summit brought together more than 30 queer people of color activist from all over the state of Texas. We created a space of restoration, engagement and fun. In addition to the activist training and action planning, the creative sharing portion of the summit allowed participants to utilize and share their creative talents as a means for engagement and education. We look forward to the Summit next year.
